So today was WordPress 5.0 patch day, which thankfully went relatively well. The only issue I had was Gutenberg enqueuing it’s stylesheet whether you want to use Gutenberg or not. If you’re going to use the classic editor: Here’s how to remove the unnecessary Gutenberg stylesheet.
Are you looking for easy to use web based graphic design software? There’s many options out there and I compared two of the more popular ones, Canva and PicMonkey.
I know that the first thing I did when I started my e-commerce store on Shopify, was remove the “powered by Shopify” branding. You would think that it would be a lot easier to do than it is.
If you setting up an e-commerce store on Shopify, it can be really difficult to come with ideas for things like designs or figure out what apps you should use. Since most people know that it’s not a brilliant idea to just randomly guess at things, they want to search for other Shopify stores and see what they are doing. The problem with that is, there isn’t a search engine or directory for Shopify stores, which is why I wrote this guide on how to find them.
Are you having trouble deciding on whether or not to start a blog or a vlog? I know there are many creative people who are sitting there thinking about what they should do and that’s why I created this post to help.
Many people choose Tumblr as a blogging platform because it’s very easy to use. But, some things on the platform are a little bit counter-intuitive or it’s difficult for beginners to understand how to accomplish something simple since it’s not obvious how to actually do it. One of those things is adding links to your Tumblr’s description, which is the best place for them since it’s at the very top of your Tumblr blog. I made a tutorial on that and also how you can turn your Tumblr description into a simple mobile responsive menu as well!
Are you thinking about building a website and need ideas? I wrote an article that goes over the surprising array of different types of websites that you can build. Check it out!
I’ve met people who really struggle with finding the right niche for their business so I decided to come up with a relatively large list of evergreen niches.
So I’ve spent a lot of time reading SEO blogs and participating in various marketing forums for years now and let me tell you, if you spend enough time reading those, you will encounter people with a wide range of different opinions and skill levels.
Now, I completely understand that everyone has to be a newb at some point, but some of these people would have figured this all out a long time ago if they just tested things. Instead they sit around on forums or social media producing wild conspiracy theories and clearly have no idea how any of this technology actually works.
There’s also the problem where there’s tons of “Gurus” rushing in to make a quick buck off the people who want to know more about the “secrets” of how the algorithm of a half trillion dollar company works and are understandably confused.
Now, I know I can’t help the SEO conspiracy theorists since they “know things that I don’t know.” 🙄
But that doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot to be learned from this article I wrote where I debunk 60+ popular SEO myths.
I know there’s a bunch of content out there already that is trying to set the record straight but my article focuses on things that people have personally said to me in conversations.
These conversations ranged from your typical misinformed person who believes that “Social Shares and nofollow links are helping them to rank” to people who came up with “innovative ideas” that probably would have worked 10+ years ago.
Then there’s advice from Gurus that honestly isn’t bad, but the way it’s explained is inaccurate or is outdated and causes a ton of confusion.
So I can’t really fault those people for being confused, because I know that some clarifications are needed.
I also created a bunch of handy web based marketing calculators that you can check out there.
I am in the process of creating a bunch of social media tutorials.
I also working on creating a bunch of HTML tutorials.
